By using Life at Carolina ("the app") you agree to these terms.
What the app is
A personal dashboard for organizing your own schedule, goals, campus locations, and for talking with other students. Campus data, rooms, and event details are provided for convenience and may be out of date. Check official UNC sources for anything that matters (registration, deadlines, building access).
Your account and your data
- You are responsible for what you put in your workspace and post in chat.
- You may load only data you are entitled to use, such as your own schedule.
- You can delete your data and account at any time.
Community rules for chat
You agree not to:
- Post harassment, threats, hate speech, or slurs.
- Post illegal content, including any sexual content involving minors.
- Share or solicit graded coursework, exam content, or anything that would violate the UNC Honor Code or a course's rules.
- Spam, impersonate others, or attempt to break or overload the service.
Messages may be moderated, hidden after reports, or removed. The app may suspend access for violations. Illegal content may be reported to the appropriate authorities. Child sexual abuse material will be reported to NCMEC as required by law.
Academic integrity
The app does not do coursework for you and is not a substitute for your own work. Using it, or its chat, to cheat is a violation of these terms and, separately, of the UNC Honor Code, which applies to you regardless of this app.
Availability and disclaimer
The app is provided "as is," without warranties. It may change or go offline. To the extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the app or from reliance on information shown in it.
Content from others
The app is not responsible for messages or content posted by other users. Those users are responsible for what they post.
Changes
These terms may change, and material changes will be posted here with a new date.
Contact and abuse reports
To report abuse, ask a question, or appeal a moderation decision, email liam.gergen@gmail.com. In-app, any chat message can also be reported directly.
